Supercharger network is the template for the hydrogen era
Elon Musk has taken his share of hits in the media for his Twitter rants and behavior that is just plain weird for a CEO. We don't know how Tesla Inc. is going to fare now that competition from Jaguar, Audi and Mercedes is here or soon will be. If Tesla doesn't make it because of mismanagement and misbehavior by Musk, and if the company goes down in flames like DeLorean, Bricklin and Tucker, there is at least one Musk legacy that is undeniably brilliant: Tesla's nationwide network of Supercharger charging stations. Tesla's Supercharger network, I think, is the template for automakers gearing up to launch fuel cell vehicles. Toyota, Honda, Hyundai and General Motors are on the cutting edge of fuel cell technology, with some vehicles already available for lease and new, more efficient fuel cell stacks -- the component that creates electricity from gaseous hydrogen -- on the way. It’s been less than three years since the sixth-generation Camaro first went on sale, but Chevrolet decided to update the Camaro’s styling for 2019. Designers didn’t mess with the cabin, powertrain, or chassis, so aside from an updated infotainment system, the changes are almost entirely cosmetic. With that in mind, how does the Camaro’s new look compare to the outgoing model?
One particularly interesting bit regarded the shooting brake, which Nurnberger said, "we sort of started it and then realized to make a really good shooting brake we had to do a lot more engineering." Thus, the long-roof Vanquish actually has a longer wheelbase than the rest of the cars. According to Nunberger, the rear of the car is taken from a modular platform and is essentially a rear of a Rapide that has been added on. Of course, that required total reengineering, retesting, as well as re-crashing to bring it to production......
As the Tesla Inc. go-private saga enters its ninth day, many are wondering when regulators will decide whether Elon Musk broke the rules by dripping out details so haphazardly.
