BMW's i subbrand launched the i3, a full-electric city car with an ultralightweight carbon fiber frame, in 2013. BMW showed that it will continue to push the subbrand to new levels when it previewed the iNext, in September. As the Tesla Inc. go-private saga enters its ninth day, many are wondering when regulators will decide whether Elon Musk broke the rules by dripping out details so haphazardly.
The issue will not end any time soon as automakers will add close to 10 million additional inflators to the record-setting recalls in January, according to the report from monitor John Buretta. More than 290 injuries worldwide have been linked to Takata inflators that can explode, spraying metal shrapnel inside cars and trucks.....
