Porsche Trademarks Tasty Hypercar
Porsche's supercars are few and far between, but well worth the wait; just take a look at what they've blessed the automotive world with since the turn of the century. The Porsche Carrera GT came out in 2004, a solid 16 years ago. That car's mid-mounted aluminum V-10 displaced a healthy 5.7 liters and produced an even healthier 605 horsepower and 435 lb-ft of torque. Lexus made a name for itself building unimpeachably well-engineered and well-built luxury cars that were also, let's be honest, a little bit beige. Impressive values, sure, and cool in their own normcore way (I'd love to have a Floridian grandpa-style early 1990s LS, personally), but beige. ....
It's called the GPV Colonel, and it was originally manufactured by a company called General Purpose Vehicles in Michigan. A quick internet search shows the manufacturer builds several such vehicles designed for military use, but exactly how Yadlowsky and his partners came upon this particular machine is something of a mystery. Another quick internet search shows Yadlowsky and GPV headquarters are only about 45 miles apart, so that could have something to do with it.. ....
Not once, not twice, but thrice did all four drivers manage to link up 1-2-3-4 on Sunday, breaking away from the pack and threatened to pull away from the rest of the field. If not for the occasional caution and stage racing, Stewart-Haas Racing very well could have naturally lapped into the top-10 in the 1000Bulbs.com 500.....
