Lamborghini reveals its first hybrid supercar: The Sian
The car is the Italian automaker’s most powerful, with 819 horsepower. Only 63 Sians will be made to honor Lamborghini’s founding year and each will cost $3.6 million. All are already spoken for.
Ahead of its official Frankfurt Auto show debut, Lamborghini has revealed the Sian, the Italian supercar maker’s first hybrid vehicle. Sian means flash of lightning in the Sant’Agata automaker’s Bolognese Italian dialect — an apt name for a car that’s also the company’s most powerful creation. The Sian’s heart is the same 6.5-liter V12 engine used in the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ with an added twist — electricity.
The new Lamborghini employs a 48-volt mild-hybrid system to add 34 electric horsepower into the mix, bringing the total to 819 horsepower. Those numbers also...

At the top are Lexus and Toyota once again, with the GX as the most reliable Lexus and the Prius C as the most reliable Toyota. Subaru, Kia, and Infinity have also stayed in the top six spots, though Mazda made a huge leap from 12 to number three. That leap, CR says, comes courtesy of Mazda “[working] out problems that plagued the CX-9 SUV and MX-5 Miata roadster.”....

The issue will not end any time soon as automakers will add close to 10 million additional inflators to the record-setting recalls in January, according to the report from monitor John Buretta. More than 290 injuries worldwide have been linked to Takata inflators that can explode, spraying metal shrapnel inside cars and trucks.....
